The Cabot Animal Shelter is located at 2951 South 1st Street in Cabot at the Allman Bevis Ball Complex. The Programs Office for Cabot Animal Support Services is located at 2102 S. 2nd Street.
Animal Control can be reached by phone at 501-843-2021, Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Animal Shelter hours of operation are Monday through Friday from Noon until 5 p.m. and the last Saturday of the month from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Weekend hours are subject to change.

If you have found a displaced dog or cat, please refer to the Found Pet Resources page on our website. You can have the pet scanned for a microchip at one of the After-Hours Chip Scanner Locations around the city. If you are unable to locate the owner within 48 hours, please contact Animal Services at 501-843-2021 for the animal to be picked up. If you would prefer to bring the animal to the shelter, you can do so between the hours of noon to 5 pm Monday through Friday.

Yes! Every dog and cat over the age of 4 months must have a city license that is renewed annually. A city license can be purchased at the Animal Shelter at a cost of $5 for altered animals and $15 for unaltered animals. In order to purchase a license for your pet, you must bring a copy of the pet's current rabies vaccination to the Cabot Animal Shelter between the hours of noon and 5pm, Monday through Friday.
We encourage every person wanting to adopt to come by the shelter and spend some time with the pet to make sure the bond between you and your pet is formed.
We currently do not have an adoption fee; however, the cost associated with spaying/neutering will be collected at the time of adoption. The total cost to adopt is $100 for dogs and $80 for cats which includes the spay/neuter, rabies, microchip, and a city license (if applicable).
Under the current law, each household is only permitted to own 4 animals (dogs and cats) within the city limits. This can be any combination of dogs or cats but cannot total more than 4 pets.

Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a true "No Kill" shelter as every organization must make tough calls when difficult health situations arise. Our humane euthanasia numbers are extremely low and hoover between 1-3% which gives us a "Live Release" rate of around 97-99%. Due to the volume of animals that we see every year and a large number of those being displaced and at a health disadvantage sometimes we do have to humanely euthanize when the number of animals in our care exceed the number we can house humanely.
