Connect2First Office

In August 2021, a bond extension for the city was voted on by Cabot residents and approved.  A portion of the funds would be directed towards the implementation of a city-wide fiber-optic network.  This would not only allow the city to provide internet services as a public utility, but it would also be the first project of its kind to start construction in the state of Arkansas.

Cabot city leaders and Connect2First officials met on August 15, 2022, for the official groundbreaking ceremony.  This event marks marks the start of construction towards CITY WIDE 1 gig internet service for businesses and residents of Cabot.

This would not only allow the city to provide internet services as a public utility, but it would also be the first project of its kind to start construction in the state of Arkansas. As part of the long term partnership Connect2First will maintain a community presence with their location at 801 Main Street in the Justice Center Complex.  The building is expected to be completed in December 2023.  To learn more about the project CLICK HERE

Rail Yard Pavilion

Through strategic planning, the city leadership has transformed an unactivated area in the downtown corridor into a community gathering place.  Integrating the arts, outdoor recreation, social engagement and economic development has been the foundation for this positive growth and rejuvenation.  The downtown revitalization had welcomed back families, residents, tourist and businesses to an area of town that was neglected for decades.  This area is now known for hosting two large scale festivals, a farmers market, community engagement activities, an inclusive place for youngster to play and vibrant artwork that is strategically placed along the corridor.  Each component has inspired community to be engaged in the progress and its success.  A pavilion has been constructed offering a platform for live music and entertainment for the community and will be open in Fall 2023
